— Spoken, verbatim

A simple thing that you take for granted, like pouring water into a cup. I cannot do it with one hand. So, even this, I have to hold it with both hands and take it to my mouth. Or preferably bring my mouth to the glass.

It was on the whole frustrating.

Tremors may be genetic problem, familial tremors are there. Essential tremors you get when you become old. Everyone gets, but some people get it very severe tremors. And there are certain diseases like Parkinson's disease and others which produce tremors. All the tremors are treated with medicine only. For the past so many, many, many decades. Then certain surgical procedures came, but all these procedures are invasive. You have to make a hole in the skull and enter into the brain. But only that was available all these years. So, we were forced to use those things to give some sort of benefit to these patients. So, when we heard about this treatment, we decided to have it because we have a huge load of neurology, neurosurgery cases inside. So, we wanted to give something best to them. The procedure is called MR guided focused ultrasound.

I used to be a writer, incidentally. I used to go on writing and I could type with both hands on the laptop or the computer keyboard and edit. Maybe I can write from tonight.

The most important thing to remember is this procedure is non-invasive. You don't use knife, you don't enter into the brain. Only waves enter into the brain and create a lesion in the thalamus. That is one of the fantastic thing to hear and happen.

I feel like a kindergarten child. You know, who goes and tells the mother, "I brush my teeth on my own." I did that today. Morning tea, I said, "I will pour it into this mug." Then came the problem. "How do you use the mug?" My muscles had forgotten, so I had to ask my assistant, "How do I hold it?" I say, "Do I hold it like this? Do I hold it like this?" So, he taught me something. He said, "No, sir, you hold it like this." So, I said, "Okay, I'll hold it like this." And I drank the tea. I wasn't sure if it's ever going to reach my lips. Okay. I put this hand away. Reach my lips. Today's lunch also, he served me my lunch. And I ate on my own.

The best part is the patient recovery. After the procedure, the happiness on the face of the patient, you know. Thank you, sir. Yeah, yeah, we are happy. We are also happy. Thank you. Thank you. I would say just blindly go and get it done and get on with your life.

The kind of film that ships and stays shipped.
